St. John Bosco Church originally existed as a car sales business in the late 50’s before being purchased by Archbishop Caroll Coleman with the intent of converting the building into a mission church. Eventually, the structure became a parish church and it thrived in the 6o’s when Operation Peter Pan came into effect bringing in thousands of Cubans into the Miami area. The parish community became officially a church. Msgr. Emilio Vallina was installed as it’s Pastor and he is still running the church 45 years later! In 2001, the new church was built and dedicated. The church is made in the shape of a cross and has Spanish style architecture. It features communion rail, a choir loft, pillars, and a rear chapel for daily mass. It also has a salon above the chapel where it has recording facilities for EWTN. It is in this salon that our teens meet for our weekly Lifeteen program!
